The only ice you’ll find inside the Morial Convention Center is the 7,200 skating rink, the exiting ice slide and, of course, the amazing cocktails being served. Frozen eggnog daiquiris with Capt. Morgan Rum, anyone?
It’s all part of the coolest Christmas event in town, running now thru December 30. Hours are 10 am – 8 pm daily, except for Christmas Eve when the family-friendly indoor festival will be open 10 am – 5 pm, and Christmas Day from 2 pm to 8 pm.
Tickets are only $20, which includes ice skating, skates, carnival rides and inflatables, crafts for kids, visits with cuddly holiday characters, gingerbread houses and fabulously decorated trees and so much more. Photos with Santa, cookie decorating and face painting are extra. But here’s a tip: Bring a 12 oz. Coke can to the ticket window and receive a $5 discount off the regular $20 price — one can per person — and kids under 2 are free. There’s also convenient $10 parking in Lot F, directly across the entrance to NOLA ChristmasFest in Hall I.
And, when the temps warm up or the rain starts again, not to worry. The weather outside might get frightful, but inside NOLA ChristmasFest at the Morial Convention Center, it’s always delightful!
